A Bee, See

This is my first time post to the In a Yellow House Challenge. Ashley Sisk of  recommended it to me recently so I thought I would check it out. It left me a bit perplexed as what to post. I really haven't taken any note worthy critter photos lately and I just did a long blog about a recent zoo trip so I'm a little burnt on zoo photos. I guess I could have just reposted, but since I've just started blogging I felt the need to create some thing new. I've just recently received my first DSLR camera. Before that it was a digi point and shoot. When broke I was left only with a cellphone camera. I was determine to make the most of this situation. So I set out to push my cellphone cam to it's limits.

The great thing about my cellphone is that I can actually get macros shots with it that I can't get without a macros lens using my Rebel. I can get right up on my subject, practically touching it, and once I figure out the timing of the auto-focus I'd have an awesome shot. Another key to this is you have to have your camera function set at the highest resolution. Which with my phone left me with no zoom functions at all. It was well worth the trade. I can easily compose a shot, it's not as easy to fix the resolution. Especially when I do all my editing with picnik basic. I think I may upgrade that soon. I would love to have Photoshop, but there are other things to spend money on. Especially when I can do some great things for $25 per year. That's so more in my budget right now.

The cellphone days were very important in my photography development. This is when I proved to myself that there is more talent in me than just snapping off family memories. I'm still trying to figure out how to get my foot in the door, and make a buck off of it. Hopefully, I can figure this one out soon so I can prove that my hubby made a good investment choice.

Did I understand you correctly...you got THOSE awesome shots with your CELLPHONE??! Oh, my...very impressive! Can't wait to see what you come up with with your DSLR ;D (forgive me if I got it wrong, and those were actually from your new camera...awesome shots, in any case!)

Absolutely incredible! It is indeed the "talent" you possess & not the camera :)

Tezzie, yes they are from my cellphone. Thank you guys so much.

Those are pretty incredible for cell phones - you should be submitting them to that cell phone's marketing department to market to photographers...I mean, I know my cell phone's camera sucks!

Thanks everyone. It took a while to figure out and a lot of messing around with settings, but it is great to know that if I don't have my camera with me (that doesn't happen often) I can still capture the moment right with my cellphone. That is if it is daytime.
